Brockwell has recently been working on a new app for specific use with our partner, CycloMedia. CycloMedia is unique in providing large-scale and systematic visualization of physical environments using specialized technology to collect 360˚ spherical imagery from a moving vehicle. CycloMedia built StreetSmart™ to be an interactive web viewer for GeoCycloramas™ – 360˚ by 180˚ panoramic and georeferenced images that are generated every five meters. Street Smart™ also has overlays and measurement functionality. Street Smart™ is built on the latest web technology standards (HTML5). In this series of videos, Brockwell shows how we have taken the CycloMedia StreetSmart viewer and made it available within AutoCAD, including Map and Civil 3D.
This video is the first in a series detailing our CycloMedia plugin for AutoCAD. CycloMedia specializes in the systematic and seamless visualization of large-scale environments based on 360° panoramic photographs. This plugin brings high definition georeferenced imagery into the AutoCAD suite of tools by leveraging CycloMedia web services. In the first video, we will demonstrate the Street Smart Viewer and some basic navigation functions.
This video is the second in a series concerning our CycloMedia plugin for AutoCAD. The individual georeferenced 360° images provided by CycloMedia are known as GeoCycloramas. The coordinate information of these GeoCycloramas is readily available through another service called the Atlas Web Feature Service. In this video, we see the Atlas service powering the plugin’s display of available GeoCycloramas within AutoCAD. The ability to visualize the availability of the data itself is a powerful contextual feature for user navigation and analysis.
This video is the third in a series focused on our CycloMedia plugin for AutoCAD. Due to the high-precision nature of the CycloMedia data, a user is able to take three dimensional location, distance, and surface measurements all from within the Street Smart Viewer. Arguably the most groundbreaking feature of this plugin is the ability to bring that measurement data into AutoCAD as a standard AutoCAD entity. Our plugin currently allows a user to generate a point, text, block reference, polyline, arc, polyface mesh, or hatch from a corresponding measurement. The video will demonstrate this process as well as point out a few of the common usage pitfalls to look out for.
This video is the fourth in a series meant to demonstrate our CycloMedia plugin for AutoCAD. CycloMedia simultaneously gathers LiDAR data as they capture their 360° imagery. Our plugin empowers the user to visualize and automate the import of the LiDAR point cloud data they have stored locally. The plugin user has the power to effortlessly move from navigating a web-enabled panoramic viewer to analyzing a three-dimensional point cloud of the immediate area using AutoCAD. In this video we will demonstrate the display and import process.
